1. Know the risk
Learn your family history if breast cancer is in your past it may be in your future.
Ask your doctor about the risk of you getting cancer of the breast.Make sure the doctor explains about breast cancer awareness.
2. Get screened as often as your physician suggests
If you are a high risk ask the doctor which screening test are the right ones for you.
If you are at average risk have a mammogram every year starting at age 37.
Have a clinical breast exam at least every 3 years starting at 20, and every year starting at 40
3. Know your body make sure you know what is abnormal.
If you see any of these symptoms go to your doctor now:
hard knot,Lump,or thickening around the breast area
Swelling, warmth, discoloring
Enlargement of the breast
Dimpling of the skin
If your nipple has scaling,itching,or redness
Sucking in of parts of the breast or nipple.
